Well lets see it started out first by running over my cell phone.  I guess it fell out of my pocket while i was getting into my car. Then while traveling at 55 mph on my way to work my hood flew up hit my windsheld, tore the crap out of the back of the cowl,  Put a nice deep crease in the area just behind the hood.  Destroyed the cowl into many peices.  Bent the windsheild wipers.  Then once I get to work I locked my keys in the car.  what a day.

thanks fellas,  the hood is fixable, new cowl no big deal.  It is the metal work I am concerned with.  I have started to pull the dents out and it looks horrible.  I know I can bondo then repaint black and it will flow.  what I am not sure about though is after I pull out the dents and bondo the top to fill in the imperfections will it crack due to body flexing.  Oh yeah and I have to swap out the windsheild wiper arms.  I am ok though.  My pride is hurt and that is about all.

do you have full coverage on the car?  the same thing happened to me last year...hood flew back at 60 because someone forgot to put in the hood pins....lol...broke the hood in 3, destroyed the cowl, the windshield and the winshield frame....anyway, put an insurance claim in, and they covered it.  didnt cost me a thing.

The ins. co.  ran mine claim thru under comprehensive.  I had $100 deductable.  I ended up buying stuff off ebay to offset the cost.  The price of my parts was more than 100, but the shop called it even after it was all said and done.  The windshield had a stone chip in it from a couple years before, so I put in a claim on that (which was 100 deductable for a new windshield).  They installed it after the bodywork was done.  The whole deal cost just over 2800.  It cost me $275.  The parts consisted of:   new hood, cowl seal, cowl cover, polished stainless hinges, winshield and install, and bodywork.

As fat as damage,  the hood ripped right off the hingnes.  It caved in the cowl cover and panel, bent the hinges, and put 2 dents in the roof above the wimdshield.  When the hood came off, The  clips for the hinge bolts were ripped right out of the hood (as well as the rivets for the hood lift brackets).  The hood would still make a nice pin on hood though.

The car is fully covered but I have a 500 dollar deductable.  So I went to the autoparts store and got the materials needed to complete the project, but it is raining right now so kind of hard to start working on things.
