Alright finaly got the new tranny in and it runs great.  However I have run into a bit of a problem.  You see the new linkage that the shifter cable attaches too has bends in the portion that is conected to the transmission.  The old trannys was straight.  My problem is that the cable will not go far enough forward to engage park.  So as of right now when the shifter reads P, it is really in reverse and so forth.  Now if I wanted to roll in a hoopty I would not care, but that is not the case.  There is plenty of cable left,  just no way to adjust it the inch forward it needs to go.  As you are looking at it now it is neutral.  I need to either one get a new shifter cable, which on I have no clue where to start with that, or find a way to extend the one I have now.  I put this out to all of you because there might be an Idea that I have not thought of.  Now we thought of taken the old linkage and putting on the new tranny, however I would of still run into the same problem.  This AOD shift linkage lever stops at vertical which is 1st then moves forward, all the way forward being park which is close to being horizontal.  My old tranny vertical was neutral then moving it forward you had reverse then park.  If you moved it the other way then obouisly you have all the other gears.  any imput would be great.  thanks

If you need one Ryan I think I still have the old shifter cable from the swap. Just let me know.

Well had to do some fabricating but it looks like I was able to make it work.  I made a trip to Home Depot on the way home from work and found some medium gauge steel.  I then took a cutting wheel and made an identical piece of the cable attachment.  once made I then placed the piece I made onto the cable attachment and secured it with two bolts.  Some good old home inginuity did the trick.  Greg, do you remember how your tranny linkage shifted?  Thanks for the info guys.
