New alternator fixed the sensor error..  no problems with the camshaft postion, now I just gotta drive a couple hundred miles to reset the OBD and I 'm good..  A/C works great, new rotors upfront so road trip here I come..

I've seen bad alternators do some very strange things...including gauge failures, radio acting like it's haunted and last but not least...no run conditions. 

How many miles on your stang? (just curious)

I have a long history with high mileage cars...more than half the cars I've been around with around 100k have had an alternator shit the bed in very strange ways...every one of them a bit different symptom and various length of warning time.

I think your "electrical storm" under the hood may be a state of confusion. You may have been out on one of your many hunts with the wife and step-daughter in the car. What you thought was the diagnostic machine at the Ford dealership was actually your EKG at the emergency room. If you experience a hoo-haa for more than four hours seek immediate medical attention. Electrical storm my ass. 

Nicole- 58,150 only..  Alternator failed a ripple test, 340hz too low, causing a EEC test P0340 Cam sensor/ circuit failure.  Hence the intermittent dash light and the computer holding onto that code.  Man I miss the old days..  You had fuel, you had compression, you had spark and timing and your car would run.  Give me back my control..
