so lately i have been trying to figure out what to do with the GT. im thinking cheap speed since money is a little tight at the moment. i was wondering if anyone has swapped their 3.73 gears out for 4.10's and what they think of them and what kind of a difference i could expect with the swap. thanks everyone.

The only advice I have for ya' is DON'T. I did years ago thinking I was going to play stoplight to stoplight or the dragstrip. I wish I had the 373 gear back. Can't drive on the highway without it being in the power band all the time and boy does it suck gas. It may be different for you with overdrive.

i have 4.10s... wish i went 3.73.  lost a lot of top end, 1st and 2 gear just spin now.   4.10 swap took more fuel mileage than my cams.   def stay 3.73

I saw screw it and go with 4:56. Make it a real tire burner .. LMAO .. Just kidding .. I went from 3:55 to 3:73 and it made quite a difference. I had thought of 4:10's but like Tony and Jerry said you lose a lot of top end and it becomes a gas hog.

agreed with everything said... stay with 373s unless you only do track stuff.

If your going to nothing but drag race ,then do 4:56 gears or lower! Hehehe... just stay with the 373 for dailly driving..

I have 4:10 gears and i love them. my gas didnt change too much and i travel on the highway everyday. the only thing im not too happy with isthe mph at the top of 4th wish i had a little more. I do drag it made a big difference from the 3:27 gears i had.

Alot depends on what transmission you have. If you have a stick with atleast 5 gears. They arent too bad.  A 3.73 is the best all around gear, In my(and most other peoples) opinion.

I was just over on the S-197 forum and some guy said he put 5:60 gears in for racing .. didn't know they made such a gear and I can't find one anywhere .. not that I'm looking for one but I was curious as to the price.

LMAO .. He wasn't using an 8.8 rearend either I bet ... probably a Dana 60. He also claimed he was driving it to work everyday .. I'm thinking he was full of crap.
