ROCK-A-HOOLA PARK

Anyone remember the Rock-a-hoola waterpark that use to be between Los Angeles & Las Vegas?  It is actually the first waterpark ever created.  It's long abandoned and on one long weekend I dragged the poor wife out to the location for some shots.   Here the video link (youtube.com)  of the Rock-a-hoola opening up for the first time and then the images from my visit to ruins.  Lots of images.

The most incredible thing was the paint on the buildings. They looked like they were still just painted. The colors are vibrant even after sitting in the desert sun beating on them for over ten years. Amazing.

These were the pumps that cycled and moved the water around the park.

Great pics Tim. The place looks to be in pretty good shape considering.

such  a weird location. No hotels or motels. No eateries, nothing but an expensive "gas stop".   The buildings are in great shape and you can drive cars right up in there.  If not so far away it would be a great place for a car show/bar-b-que event.

Pics are great! The video was cool. When i used to drive from LA to Vegas in my GT vert my only thought was getting to Vegas fast without getting a ticket... would never stop along the way...
