What it is everyone?? First off I got the front end close enough that it should be able to be aligned now, so finally a big SIIIIGH.....and hey, I think I only went through 1 hack saw blade!!
Anyways, now that the front end is outta the way I can finally start with something easier, the engine!! Once again bad luck steps in.....
Come to find out that the guy who has my cylinder heads(he was supposed to be cleaning them, replacing the seals, and lowering the spring rate for use with hydraulic lifters) finally got around to checking them out. Now basically, they came off my friends engine and went to the shop, where it seems they have been sitting on the floor in a box for a few months or so. Now, my friend at the time had an 8.50 Drag Radial ride, and he uses C-16. Well, after months of the heads just hanging out, whatever was left of the fuel residue pretty much ate up the combustion chambers and all the valve faces, so the heads are worthless!!
Now comes the good news, lol. My friend and the guy are pitching in to buy me a new set of castings and all new goodies to go with it, and I mean EVERYTHING. This will majorly work out to my favor for 2 reasons, 1. I'm getting all NEW stuff, instead of a set of heads that have already been ported and decked like 5 times, and 2. the valve job, porting, cam, and the entire valve train will be set up for my motor, not an 8 second car!!
So, hopefully, in about 10 days I will have the new heads, cam and valvetrain which means I can get started on the engine, which really brings this whole project a lot closer to home...I'm REALLY thinking I can have this thing done in 5 weeks, lets all pray to the horsepower gods for some good luck!!!
