it makes me so mad because they let my brother buy cars whenever he wants to. they said im not experianced enough... thats bull. how am i suposed to learn unless they let me.

yeah, im not 18 yet. im only 16 almost 17 but still when my dad was younger he changed car like underware. he wrecked a bunch of them too. but he wont let me get a car ive dreamed of owning for  a long time. and i took a ride in it today, its so awesome.    this sucks =/

if anyone has any good arguments i could bring up as to why i should be aloud to get it please tell me because it could really help.

Tell them that the insurance might actually be cheaper because the car is older. also let them know it does have a airbag, and parts are cheap.

Talk to your grandparents about it.

If they will not let you upgrade, have you thought about upgrading the motor?  Maybe adding a supercharger?...I know it will not be a fox but you could make a sleeper out of yours.  There is an article in 5.0 mag on engine swaps may wanna read.  You could tell your dad the fox body mustangs will be cheaper on taxes and insurance since it is older. 

im paying $110 a month. the guy i want to buy the car from is also paying $110ish a month. he gets about the same gas millage. oh and get this, he has a parts car at his farm and he said i can have any parts i need and he will also throw in a 351 block incase i want to upgrade that car if i get it...... thats why im so mad about this. because its a perfect chance to get what i always wanted and also have back up parts.

i wrote a persuasive letter to give to them so i hope they read it and will change their minds =)

lol its almost 2 pages long but it tells about all the reason why i should get it and why i shouldnt.

im trying to see if i can pay for classes to help me "understand the road" and be able to get the car. ive been in 2 wrecks when i was little. i dont want to be in another so im more of a catious driver then most of my friends. and a few of my friends have had friends or family die in wrecks and ive seen what it does to people. i know all that and that i need to be safe

lol what makes no sense to me is that my dad used to be into cars big time when he was younger.... idk if something happened but he is against fast cars now..... sucks for me. but what really sucks is that my mom and dad have helped my brother buy 4 different cars in a year and they wont let me get one. they said that my brother wasnt alowed to get a v8.... he never tried to get one he wanted a ford probe instead

it is, and it drives great,  it sounds great, it is great. theres not much i would do to it just because i dont want to have way to much power but i still want to have a little fun.

they have seen how much i car about the stang i have now. they know i take good care of my stuff and i already pay for everything. the thing is i can sell my ar right away and get this and possibly still have money left over. thats where fixing minor things comes in but i wouldnt be doing any mods to it for a long time. just so i can get used to a higher hp car.

ryan i got you beat man, i had to drive a 82 ford exp to work and school untill graduation and we all know how UGLY them things were.

insurance... gas prices....  save your money, get a V6 and mod it

I will be 30 in under a month and it took me this long and 12 long years of deploying and moving to be able to afford the Stang I have dreamed of since 2003. My first vehicle was a 1962 chevy 2wd pick up. Straight 6 and an 8 track player. Then when the frame cracked I got the only thing I could afford......an escort. that I later made an escort GT woooo fn hooo. I think maybe you should be happy for what you got and by all means stop calling your parents stupid. I am a father of two and god forbid the day they ever talk to me or about me the way you have. Could you imagine what they would do if they happened to log on here and read what you have said......... I give ya mad props for wanting a Fox cause we all know they kick ass but sit back and weigh the advantages versus the disadvantages first. Have you even tried to find out how much your insurance would go up/down? I have a hard time believing a 350 hp engine gets the same gas mileage as a V-6 stang. Granted you might have to pass up this one but just think.....a lil over a year and you should be able to get what ever you want and you will still love your parents just the same. You should never let a car come between you. I lost my dad when I was ten. I would bet your parents just dont wanna loose you. Just my .02

j, it cost way to much to mod a v6. beleive me if i could mod my car and make it as good as i had planed all along i would but its just to  much money.

 Yosemiddysam, the gas is the same if you dont drive like crazy and at really high speeds. ive already learned my leason about speeding so im done speeding besides every now and then. not as much as i used to because i dont want to lose my car and i dont want to lose the fox if i get that either.

well then good luck but IMHO, 16-17 year olds with a 350 hp 5.0 mustang is something that should not be. you need driving experience before handling a machine like that. not only for your safety but for all others on the road. i am now 32 & it took me over 12 years to get the car i wanted & i had to work my ass off for it & build it myself & not have it just given to me. be patient, gain a few more years of driving experience & save up your cash bro. your lucky to have the mustang you have now! wish i had that when i was 16. i had an 82 Olds Cutlass!

the fox stang really is the way to go!

i talked to them and told them i wont do anything stupid. they trust me so that helps but im not going to do anything stupid and i think when i started it up at the guys house and they saw me smiling they knew how bad i wanted it.

yeah but its hard on me..... really hard. i love that car. i mean its my first car, and i rebuilt it with my own hands with the help of my dad. its making it really hard to get rid of it before i buy the other one. i wanted to take out a loan and keep both cars for a week or so then sell it but im not allowed =/

that would be a great idea to take a loan out to buy the car, then sell your other one after. that way you can pay off the loan quickly with the money from the V6 & bingo, now your building good credit ontop of having the car you want! that will be a helping hand with your finances & credit report later on in years to come! if you can talk them into that a persuade them to do this, i will be jealous LOL! TELL THEM THIS CAN HELP YOUR FUTURE :-)
