As many of you know, my Mustang is a v-6 with dual exhaust yada, yada, yada. I have a couple of friends of mine that are trying to get me to take the v-6 out of my car and put in a 302 motor. So I put the question out to the all in the Mustang community. Should I or shouldn't I take the v-6 out and install a 302 motor into my car?

I think unless you plan on doing some racing, its pointless to change the motor.

I think as long as your happy with your stang thats what matters. I love my stang, love the sound. I have to tell people its a v6.

I agree with everyone regarding our V6 engines. I love my V6 and would not trade it.  There are numerous things you can do to add some Ponies under the hood without giving up the gas mileage and as J noted, higher insurance cost. I like messing with all the GT owners! Most are not willing to take it all the way because they have a small bit of fear that maybe, just maybe, my V6 might have more Ponies because of upgrades.  I get a good laugh at least once a day!

Changing an engine is a big task. Like the old saying goes   if it aint broken dont fix it. A buddy of mines also has a six and he has fixed it up with a supercharger and other goodys and he is running higher horses than most v8.   And again Viva la V6 Revolution.
