could be a bad pressure switch. did you have all the pressures checked ?

if your have low freon it will not kick on due to low pressure, also the high pressure switch could be bad. and the worst case the compressor could have quit on you. I would see how much pressure you have in the system before buying anything.

see if you are getting voltage to the compressor, thats where I would start that will narrow it down to mechanical or electrical.

check it with the engine on, switch on if no volts then its an electrical problem, If you read voltage at the compressor, there is a good chance that the compressor failed internally, or if it has low voltage, there is a big resistance in the wiring somewhere and it isnt enough to engage the compressor

might want to look at your fuses or relays, could be something simple, loose ground wire somewhere is possible too

check all relays, sounds like the clutch isn't engaging, pressure switch as been suggested, but start simple, and hope its the cheap repairs first. Good luck.

I was going to suggest to delete the darn thing but I see you live in Florida so I guess that won't work.
