GotStang - Video / Audio File Hosting/Editing/Converting by the W3bMa5t3r
I've taken care of a few people already but I guess we can start trying this out... lol
I'm offering FREE video / audio file hosting on my website for GS members only, for use here (basically anything over 1MB in size since that's the limit here). If I find the files being used elsewhere, they will be deleted and your username will be removed from the upload permissions list. Once the files are uploaded to my site, you will be able to use the URL given to you, in your codes for adding music and videos to your webpages.  Basic steps are below:
  1. Register for a new account here at W3bMa5t3r.com
  2. GS members, make sure that you signup using the SAME username as you use on GS, this way I can verify member accounts. I'm only hosting for members of GS. Thanks.
  3. Once you are registered with the site, I will add you to the UPLOADS permission list. Once on the list, you will be able to click on UPLOADS in the left side menu, select your module (your username) and upload files.
  4. Once the files are uploaded you may view your uploaded files and it will display the link needed for the video/audio embedding codes. Just replace the example URL/Link in the code for adding video/audio to your page, with the URL/link given to you from my site. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, look at the blog writeup I did for adding video to your webpage http://www.gotstang.com/blogs.php?blogid=15
    If you have any questions feel free to ask. Peace... The W3bMa5t3r

    NOTE: I'm not quite sure of the max upload size yet, but tbird uploaded a 5meg file, so we can go from there... lol
    Also, If you need me to edit any videos for you, just let me know. I can edit and convert most formats. For videos here, I recommend either Quicktime (*.MOV) or Windows Media (*.WMV). If so, message me here and I'll give you the email address to send the files to. Peace...

Website HowTo's For GotStang? - Scrolling Text For Your Webpage
For my fourth writeup/howto, we're going to cover adding a "Scrolling Text Box". Please forgive me beforehand for any grammatical or spelling errors, as I am no speech/english major. \"smile\" Thanks. Now on to the HowTo...

Adding a 'scrolling text box'.
  1. In the "Manage" box to the right, select "Website".
  2. From "Website", select the car you wish to edit the page(s) of  (if you have more than one car).
  3. Once the desired car is selected, choose the page you wish to edit.
  4. Now that the desired page to edit has been selected, you will see a cool webpage editor. In this editor, scroll to the area where you would like to add your 'scrolling text box'.

    It will result in this:

    This is cool!

    That's all there is to adding a "scrolling text box". \"smile\" Enjoy and I hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I will be doing each section one at a time so look for more to come... Later...

Website HowTo's For GotStang? - Embed Video Into Your WebpageHow To Embed Video

How to embed (add) a video to your webpage.
Complied By The "W3bMa5t3r"
(Thanks to 'tbird' for letting me use his video for these examples)

You need to have your video file hosted on a server. Either here at GotStang? (must be less than 1MB to be hosted on GS) or somewhere else. Once you have the file hosted somewhere continue with the information below:

NOTE!!! The Example URL that is used in the follwing codes must be replaced with the URL for YOUR video. The example URL is:

http://www.w3bma5t3r.com/gotstang_hosted/tbird/trying_to_burnout.*

* = .mov or .wmv or .rm

Ensure!!! that you replace all instances of the Example URL with YOUR URL. \"smile\" If you want it to work right :-p

NOTE 2!!! I know my real media file doesn't work. It's a problem with my converter. It won't convert Real Media right for some reason and I wanted to get this up as quick as possible. The code will work though, just place the URL to your video in place of my example URL.

Embeding a QuickTime (*.MOV) file/video, use this code, replacing the URL included, with the one you have for your video.

<?> Copy & paste the following...

      <!-- begin embedded QuickTime file... -->
      <table border='0' cellpadding='0' align="center">
        <!-- begin video window... -->
        <tr><td>
        <OBJECT classid='clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B' width="640"
        height="495" codebase='http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab'>
        <param name='src' value="http://www.w3bma5t3r.com/gotstang_hosted/tbird/trying_to_burnout.mov">
        <param name='autoplay' value="true">
        <param name='controller' value="true">
        <param name='loop' value="false">
        <EMBED src="http://www.w3bma5t3r.com/gotstang_hosted/tbird/trying_to_burnout.mov" width="640" height="495" autoplay="true"
        controller="true" loop="false" pluginspage='http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/'>
        </EMBED>
        </OBJECT>
        </td></tr>
        <!-- ...end embedded QuickTime file -->
        </table>

That should result in this:

Embeding a Windows Media Files (*.WMV or *.WMA or *.ASX or *.ASF):

<?> Copy & paste the following...

      <!-- begin embedded WindowsMedia file... -->
      <table border='0' cellpadding='0' align="center">
      <tr><td>
      <OBJECT id='mediaPlayer' width="640" height="525"
      classid='CLSID:22d6f312-b0f6-11d0-94ab-0080c74c7e95'
      codebase='http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=5,1,52,701'
      standby='Loading Microsoft Windows Media Player components...' type='application/x-oleobject'>
      <param name='fileName' value="http://www.w3bma5t3r.com/gotstang_hosted/tbird/trying_to_burnout.wmv">
      <param name='animationatStart' value='true'>
      <param name='transparentatStart' value='true'>
      <param name='autoStart' value="false">
      <param name='showControls' value="true">
      <param name='loop' value="false">
      <EMBED type='application/x-mplayer2'
        pluginspage='http://microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/en/download/'
        id='mediaPlayer' name='mediaPlayer' displaysize='4' autosize='-1'
        bgcolor='darkblue' showcontrols="true" showtracker='-1'
        showdisplay='0' showstatusbar='-1' videoborder3d='-1' width="640" height="525"
        src="http://www.w3bma5t3r.com/gotstang_hosted/tbird/trying_to_burnout.wmv" autostart="false" designtimesp='5311' loop="false">
      </EMBED>
      </OBJECT>
      </td></tr>
      <!-- ...end embedded WindowsMedia file -->
    <!-- begin link to launch external media player... -->
        <tr><td align='center'>
        <a href="http://www.w3bma5t3r.com/gotstang_hosted/tbird/trying_to_burnout.wmv" style='font-size: 85%;' target='_blank'>Launch in external player</a>
        <!-- ...end link to launch external media player... -->
        </td></tr>
      </table>

This should leave you with something like:

Launch in external player

Embeding a Real Media (*.RM) File/Video:

<?> Copy & paste the following...

      <!-- begin embedded RealMedia file... -->
      <table border='0' cellpadding='0' align="center">
        <!-- begin video window... -->
        <tr><td>
        <OBJECT id='rvocx' classid='clsid:CFCDAA03-8BE4-11cf-B84B-0020AFBBCCFA'
        width="640" height="480">
        <param name='src' value="http://www.w3bma5t3r.com/gotstang_hosted/tbird/trying_to_burnout.rm">
        <param name='autostart' value="false">
        <param name='controls' value='imagewindow'>
        <param name='console' value='video'>
        <param name='loop' value="false">
        <EMBED src="http://www.w3bma5t3r.com/gotstang_hosted/tbird/trying_to_burnout.rm" width="640" height="480"
        loop="false" type='audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin' controls='imagewindow' console='video' autostart="false">
        </EMBED>
        </OBJECT>
        </td></tr>
        <!-- ...end video window -->
          <!-- begin control panel... -->
          <tr><td>
          <OBJECT id='rvocx' classid='clsid:CFCDAA03-8BE4-11cf-B84B-0020AFBBCCFA'
          width="640" height='30'>
          <param name='src' value="http://www.w3bma5t3r.com/gotstang_hosted/tbird/trying_to_burnout.rm">
          <param name='autostart' value="false">
          <param name='controls' value='ControlPanel'>
          <param name='console' value='video'>
          <EMBED src="http://www.w3bma5t3r.com/gotstang_hosted/tbird/trying_to_burnout.rm" width="640" height='30'
          controls='ControlPanel' type='audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin' console='video' autostart="false">
          </EMBED>
          </OBJECT>
          </td></tr>
          <!-- ...end control panel -->
          <!-- ...end embedded RealMedia file -->
        <!-- begin link to launch external media player... -->
        <tr><td align='center'>
        <a href="http://www.w3bma5t3r.com/gotstang_hosted/tbird/trying_to_burnout.rm" style='font-size: 85%;' target='_blank'>Launch in external player</a>
        <!-- ...end link to launch external media player... -->
        </td></tr>
      </table>

This should leave you with something like:

Launch in external player

ADDING the code to your webpage.

Make sure you've changed the VIDEO URL in the above code to reflect the URL of YOUR VIDEO/FILE.

In this editor go to the HTML VIEW (tabe at bottom of editor), scroll to the area where you would like to add your video file. Copy the code above !!!WITH YOUR VIDEO'S URL!!! in place of the example URL and PASTE the code. Once that is done, save the page and you should now have video in your page.

That's all there is to adding video to your webpage. \"smile\" Enjoy and I hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I will be doing each section one at a time so look for more to come... Later...

Website HowTo's For GotStang? - "Images & Images That Expand Into New Windows"
Ok well I have this on Page 7 of my site here, but as requested, I'll be writing a few "Website HowTo's" for GotStang?. Since I do have some of this information on my site already, I'll try to go a bit more in-depth with what I write here. Please forgive me beforehand for any grammatical or spelling errors, as I am no speech/english major. \"smile\" Thanks. Now on to the HowTo...

Adding "Images & Images That Expand Into New Windows".

Ok, first of all, we're going to cover adding images to webpages. It's quite easy now since J has added the cool webpage editor.
In this editor, scroll to the area where you would like to add your image.
  5. Click where you would like your image and then click on the "Insert/Edit an Image..." icon from the buttons at the top of the webpage editor.
  6. This will open a wizard to help you insert the image. Just select your image and configure the settings, then press "OK".
    [NOTE!!: your images must be hosted on a server as you must have the URL for this to work. You can either upload the images here, or another site, but you must have the full and correct URL for this to work properly. It should resemble the code that follows:
  7. Once done, you should have a nice image sitting in your page.

    If you were to look at the code for the image we just inserted in the "HTML CODE" view of the webpage editor, you would see something like this:

    Now... On to adding "Images That Expand Into New Windows.

    This will cause an image that is linked to a large image, to open in the same window when clicked. If you would prefer it opens in a new window ( I do so I can continue to listen to the music on the site while looking at picture and not hearing the beginning of a song 20 times) this is what your code needs to look like. Just go into the "HTML CODE" view (buttons at the bottom of the webpage editor) and make the simple change. You are going to add a LINKING URL (links the samll image to the larger image) in front of the image URL.  Just like the image URL, you need to make sure you have the LINKING URL correct, pointing to the larger image.

That's all there is to adding "Images & Images That Expand Into New Windows". \"smile\" Enjoy and I hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I will be doing each section one at a time so look for more to come... Later...

Website HowTo's For GotStang? - Cool Boxes
Ok well I have this on Page 7 of my site here, but as requested, I'll be writing a few "Website HowTo's" for GotStang?. Adding a 'cool' box (also called a table or cell) with your text inside of it. It's much easier now that J has added the webpage editor...

This is how a cool box could look...

Or Maybe Even
Like This...

Or maybe... maybe even like this... :-
In this editor, scroll to the area where you would like to add your 'cool' box with text inside of it.
  5. Click on the location where you would like your box then click on the "Insert Table..." icon from the buttons at the top of the editor.
  6. A 'wizard' will open up, letting you change the configuration for the box. It will give you a preview so you will know what it looks like.  Configure it till you're happy and hit "OK".
  7. Once that's done you can add your text inside the box(es) to your own liking.
That's all there is to adding a "cool box with text inside". \"smile\" Enjoy and I hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I will be doing each section one at a time so look for more to come... Later...
