Page 1 The Flat Hood Sleeper

updated: Oct 25th 2012 @ 11:16 AM

Here’s my harmless 66 Mustang. The car is designed as an Old School 60's Street/Strip Sleeper car with modern stuff thrown in. It was fun to do, despite the constant fabrication to make things fit. The Use of a flat hood was the key component to keep the sedate sedan look. Hope You Enjoy it.

Yes I drive it to the track, run 10’s and drive home with a flat hood.
Other than the engine block machine work and the paint, I have done most of the work myself. As you can see......some assembly was required.

Most of the pictures are from the track, but I do drive it on the street and go to shows. Even won a few Non-track trophies too. My home track is Gateway International Raceway in Madison Il.....just across the river from St Louis.

Best Pass is 10.60 @ 127. Still working on the suspension. It has run 130 mph, but the ET wasn't as good.

Inside the car.........NHRA Legal to 10.0's. Other than the bar install....all work was done by me. Even got to reuse some of the original interior parts.

View out the back and.....peeking through the wheel, the Jacobs Nitrous control and the custom made box for operating the system. Uses an NOS Launcher controller now. Activation, fuel, heaters, purge and opener...........You never have to get out of the car.

No show gauges here..............Tach and fuel pressure for the motor added to the working and calibrated factory ford stuff.

The trunk...........with the necessary items. Two bottles are used to limit pressure drop due to low volume at the big end of the track going through the traps.

The trophy shelf. Some for racing and some for shows.

EPC show in 2006....First in Class. Modified of course!

The Engine.......Complete with a custom plumbed fogger. You try fitting it under a flat hood!!!

Underneath the car front and rear.
