Picked up these door & body mouldings for the '83. The mouldings are actually for the '85/86 model year. I'll clean them up then take a few more pics.

Have you ever tried to find this year moulding?

What a difference .. those look like brand new .. what do you figure you saved by redoing those over buying new pieces?

thunderbolt64
Aug 16th, 2009 @ 1:49 PM

You can't buy new pieces.......not for the '85/86 Model year.

That sucks .. you would think places like yearone or late model restoration would havethat stuff.

'85/86 is an oddball year. I think Ford must of reworked the tooling, that made these pieces, and used it to make the later model years.

Ya I spent some time looking around and it seems like those trim pieces are only available in 87 and up. No one seems to list ANY for an 85/86.

Bingo!

Now try to find '64 Fairlane quarter panel replacements.

The guy wants 2500 bucks for one quarter panel in that listing.............not happening.

I am very familar with Crites restoration. I have his fiberglass front end on my car. Seriously thinking about buying the fiberglass rear quarters from him.

Crites has very good quality......a lot of people don't realize the front of the Fairlane is fiberglass until I point it out to them.

I wondered about the quality when I saw it was fiberglass.
