This is my 1985 Medium Silver Metallic (1B) SVO Mustang.  Car came out of Detroit Michigan for the bargain price of $2000.  It's a bit rusty, and has got 92,xxx miles on it, and I drag race every chance that I can get.  I have got some pretty big plans for her, now I just need the money to pull it off!

Here are some pics from the track, not too recent though.

Warming up the radials

Needless to say, he lost

Oops, red light.  Hate it when that happens         Chillin in the staging lanes before I get back to racing
I am faster than him                                 Just finishing my burnout...

Gotta get them nice and hot...

Mods:

When I bought the car in Detroit in hardly ran, and under the hood it was an absolute mess.  First mods were to upgrade to the LA3 computer and 35# injectors from an 88 Turbo Coupe, 3 inch downpipe and exhaust back to 2.5 inch muffler and 2.5 out the back, along with a manual boost controller and TC InterCooler (IC).  This got the car into the high 14's, but that wasn't near enough for me.

Now the car is set at 20psi of boost, 12* timing, the A237 cam that was in the car when I bought it is advanced 2*, and with the help of a set of Hoosier drag radials netted me 13.80's.  I then swapped in an 8.8 with 3.55's after the stock 7.5 gave up after a couple hundred 6000 rpm launches.  Can't imagine why?  The Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC) dropped that down to 13.60's, and upped the mph to ~99.

Best time is 13.62 @ 97 mph.  I was slightly on the brakes at the end trying not to break out while bracket racing.  The car has been killer for me this year.  This summer I have won 3 events, and come runner up for 4 more.  The majority of my track time has been spent at Marion County International Raceway out towards Marion, Ohio, and Summit Motorsports Park (aka Norwalk Raceway Park) in Norwalk.  Since I have been at college I have been racing, whenever I get the time, at Dragway 42 by West Salem as it is a mere 20 miles away.

Kinda dirty inside, but this was a spur of the moment thing.

The aftermarket boost guage                            Front shot, all wet because of the rain

Single unassuming tail pipe, 2.5 inch               Slightly polished stock SVO wheels

The FMIC peeking through the bumper              Top of IC with the hood open

The all important engine shots, front                 Driver's side

For the Future:

The idea for the car, wishfully over the winter, but we will see about that, is the addition of a larger throttlebody, larger hybrid turbo, get the meth kit that is mounted spraying, wideband hooked up, and either a new exhaust manifold or port the hell out of the E6.  The goal is mid 12's on radials, but we shall see.  Funds are tight for everybody, and especially so for a college student.

Hey folks, I was wondering if someone out there with an 88-93 Fox convertible could do me a favor.  I am looking for a picture of the of the ‘A’ pillar post window weather strip showing the weather strip and inside trim molding (the molding on the inside of the pillar post) and another detail picture of where the pillar post molding meets the door seal molding.  I am redoing this and need an example – my car was repaired long before I purchased it and they kind of did a ‘custom’ job on this area.  I want it to be right this time.

Thanks,

Tim
