The Remodel

updated: Jan 16th 2012 @ 12:27 PM

Back in 2009 the mustang went under a major remodeling of the entire vehicle.

It started off with removing all emblems and rocker panel moldings. New wheels were in store for the mustang since the old black ones had become an eyesore to me. So I bought a set of Summit Racing Legend 5 Series wheels in chrome. 15x7s for the front and 15x8s for the rear, I paired those up with Falken Zeix 512s. I run a 205/50R15 in the front and 225/50R15 for the rear. Next were drop coils which have a full coil cut and 2" drop blocks for the rear.

It was repainted the original Candy Apple Red in April of 2010. The front bucket seats were reupholstered and the dash got all new panels. Finally a tach and water temp gauge were added.

Then in the Summer of 2011 it received a new power plant. Installed was a World Class T5 put behind a roller cam 302. On top of that it got HEI distrubutor, Edelbrock 1406 carb, weiand intake, and patriot mid-length headers. To go along with that a big block aluminum radiator and 14" electric fan were installed.

As for exhaust it currently has a jacked up system, but a full 2.25" system is on order. It also will be getting Roush Off-Road mufflers from a S197 mustang installed. I modified them myself to fit. It will go out of a GT Valance with Magnaflow double walled tips.

For christmas of 2011 it also received a pair of Halogen headlights.

I remember my first car, a '70 Dodge Charger that I bought when I was 14 back in '79. It was only 9 years old but rust took its toll. You got a great starting point that will keep you busy for years to come. Rice burners make great winter cars. American iron rules.....Keith
