My Little Girl Dream Come True

updated: Dec 11th 2007 @ 11:25 PM

   Ok, I'm going to give this web page a try...bear with me, this is my first. lol  My first web page and my first Mustang. lol  My story??

    When I was 16, way back in 1976,  my dad was looking for my first car, and my girlfriend had to sell her 1965 red mustang, because she was moving. So I begged him to let me test drive it. Well, we did, and I wanted that Mustang...really, really....really bad. But he wouldn't buy it because he said it needed too much work. WTF??? But DAD....it's a M.U.S.T.A.N.G.!!! I cried all the way home and that little crying jag landed me a 1969 Volkswagon bug. The HORROR!!!!

     That was the story of my very first broken heart, and you KNOW what they say about your first love, right?  That's right, I NEVER got over it.
Well, I did get over it, sort of. In the next 30 years,  I moved on with my life, got married a few times....yes..I said a few. Drove a few other types of cars...
Datsun 240z...Mitsubishi 3000Gt....Firebird for my 40th birthday...then finally decided to grow up and drive a yuppie Saab.

     Did I say....GROW UP????  Nope, not ready. Not yet.  About 4 months ago, I realized that the lease was going to be up on my Saab, and I was feeling ...older.  What the hell was happening to me?  I still felt young, but my numbers were saying the opposite. How do I stop this freight train of age?  What the hell do I do to slow down the process?  Face lift?  Liposuction?  Lip injections from the fat on my *ss?

     And then I saw a picture of a Mustang...something unique, something that whispered my name as I slept. Just by chance, a car dealership in my neighborhood had a used one for sale. So I pulled up on the outskirts of the lot, at 10 o'clock at night, and I stared at it.

     It was a RONAELE...pronounced...Ruh-Naw-Lee.  Look closely and you will see, that it is Eleanor, (from Gone in 60 Seconds)...spelled backwards. Get it?  lol   Check out the website....www.ronaele.net

     Well, I sent an email to the above website, and the owner (Ed Monfort) emailed me back with details. As it turns out, he lived about 15 minutes from my house!!  He met with my husband and I and we put in our custom order. Eleanor, in the movie, was a silver and black stripe. But I chose the color Alloy with the black stripe because I wanted it to look like the muscle car of my dreams.  I always wanted the darkest gray possible.

     So I had to order a GT from my local Ford dealership that (deals with) Ronaele's, loaded with the options I wanted, (I had to have my Shaker 500 stereo!) and then Ronaele takes the new car and basically strips the paint, and rips out the interior and puts in the following....

Ronaele 350R comes with the following...

*Full body paint with OEM quality luster finish.

*Painted stripes under 5 layers of clear coat

* Molded & sculpted upper and lower fiberglass scoops (no glued on parts)

* 5 layer fiberglass side skirts

* Double-sided fiberglass hood & hood pins for safety

* Deep lip wheel package w/ high performance, extreme rated 20" low profile tires

*Belly pan for both center support & as a scrape plate.

* Exclusive dual X-style side exhaust muffler system w/ SS tear drop tips

* High grade polyurethane front and rear bumpers...no tape

* Zinc coated brake rotors to prevent rust

* "King of the Road" white light package; 6" center fog lights & extreme driving    lights

* Numbered engine bay badge & certificate of Ronaele authenticity.

* Cold air kit with tuner

* Under Drive pulley

* Plenum cover

* 3.55:1 gear ratio

* Ford racing springs

*Custom Ronaele leather racing seats and floor mats

    I put in the Carbon Fiber dashboard. It gives it a much more custom look to the inside.

     I have the 1st Ronaele with an '08 Cobra front bumper as an option also. (This is noted on my certificate)

     Not sure if you want to see them up close, but here's a closer look at the wheels...

This is my baby going for her first photo shoot...and as a result, she's on the inside back cover of the new February (2008) 5.0 Mustang magazine, due on the shelves soon. And No...that's not ME sitting on her hood in the pic. Go pick up a copy and see her for yourself...she's also slated to be in the Makes and Models magazine soon.

I also requested the number 24, as my favorite Nascar driver is Jeff Gordon. ( I know he doesn't drive Fords, but I love him just the same)

     Well, the end result was my dream car. It's put my youth back where it belongs, in the driver's seat of a muscle Stang!!  There's no place else I'd rather be, even if I had to wait 30 years! Doesn't this smile just say it all?
