Phase 1 Modifications
Started to do some work on the motor and drivetrain to get some more horsepower. The motor was pulled and sent out for boring, balancing and blueprinting. When it came back, the engine shop advised that it was actually a 302 block from a 1968 Shelby GT 350. At this stage we did the following:
- Bored over .030
- Kieth Black 10.4:1 Aluminum Hyperpeutic pistons and connecting rods
- Trikflow Twisted Wedge 61cc Aluminum head w/ 2.02 valves
- Comp Cams custom grind camshaft .502 lift (apparently by Buddy Rawls himself)
- Comp Cams solid lifters
- ARP pushrods
- Scorpion Aluminum roller rockers
- Edelbrock RPM Dual-plane manifold
- Holley 570 cfm Street avenger - vacuum secondaries
- Hooker headers
- MSD billet Alum distributor w/ MSD 6000AL ignition (6000 rpm chip)
- Accel Super Stock coil
- MSD 8.5mm ignition wires
- "Powered by Mustang" valve covers and air cleaner
-Edelbrock water pump
- Flowmaster 40 series mufflers w/ 2.5" X-pipe exhaust set-up
- B&M 2700 rpm stall converter
- Bulletproofed C6 tranny
- Grag-a-Trak 5 leaf rear springs
- Auburn Racing 3:55 limited slip Posi-Trac
