Engine Swap

updated: Jun 22nd 2005 @ 09:27 PM
I drove the car in various stages of body disrepair for awhile until one day the old 68 302 the previous owner had dropped in died on me. I planned on doing an engine swap somewhere down the road so I pulled out the old 302 and c4 and put them on ebay. I started to smooth out the engine bay and picked up a 93 reef blue 4 banger, 5 speed coupe as a daily driver. I traded the 93 for a 90 ex-schp coupe with a 5.0 and a 5 speed after a few months. Unfortunately, someone hit me in the 90 after only 2 months of driving it and totalled it. I used this as an oppurtunity to get an engine and transmission for the 64 and to fund the swap. So now that I have a 15 year old motor and a 40 year old car I had to make them work and finish smoothing the engine bay at some other time. I began buying parts for the swap, and I will let the pictures speak for the parts I bought. I went from a running donor car to a running 64 in only a month and a half (with a visit from the UPS man or FedEx man almost everyday). I installed a Powerdyne BD-11A supercharger @ 8 psi; I am especially proud of this because many people say that it is impossible to install a centrifugal supercharger on an EFI 5.0 in a 64-66 without cutting out the shock towers but I proved them wrong. I also installed 94-04 Bullit pedal covers which took a bit of trimming to the 64 pedals to make them fit.

I'm so impressed with the work you've done installing the centrigral S/C and getting it into your 64 1/2 that I nominated you for Best Engine in the Classic Division! This is a new catagory I recommended to 'J' so some new blood could compete in this division! I'd suggest you take a picture of the new engine in your 'Stang and put it as the first picture in your Website! Let 'em see that cool mill right up front! LOL
