I purchased the car used in the spring of 2001. At that time, it had 40,000 miles on it. It was bone stock except for the K&N Filtercharger and 3.73 Gears. I almost immediately bought the Cobra rims and Kuhmo tires because the plans for the future called to install a complete 1998 Cobra body kit (something I would have loved to buy, but at the time, couldnít afford). During the summer, I had the body kit installed and drove the car around like that until it was time to park it for the winter. Now since it looked more powerful, it was time to do something about that. After the funds became available, I purchased all my parts. I started tearing the engine apart in the beginning of February, in between going to school and working full-time. I must thank my dad for his guidance and assistance in finishing my car, as this is the first time Iíve built a car or engine. Finally, after four months of working weekends and nights after school on my project, we had everything installed.
Next, we turned to the suspension, which I installed a full cobra front and rear brake kit, and a Maximum motorsports Road and Track box with the 4 Pt K-Member Brace, Full Length Subframe Connectors (Welded in), Pinion Snubber, Front and Rear Spring Isolators, Caster/Camber Plates, Panhard Bar with Aluminum Rod, Rear Lower Control Arms, Ford Motorsports Upper Control Arms, H&R Super Sport Springs, Tokico Illumina 5 Way Adjustable Shocks and Struts, Flaming River Solid Steering Shaft, Front Control Arm Bushings (Urethane), and Front Swaybar Bushings (Urethane).
Now that I had the car performing and driving how I wanted, I turned to the show side. I started polishing and chroming everythinhg. I also bought Boyd Coddington Smoothie II rims (18x9 from, 18x10.5 rear). I also installed a custom 2 tone leather interior, leather emergency brake boot, emegency shifter boot, and a few other interior things. Shortly after this, my department at work shut down and I was tansfered to Wisconsin. The car stayed largely the same until the fall of 2007....
Pokerville Ironworks in Blue Mounds, WI (www.pokervilleironworks.com) or 608 437 2453 sprayed a sonic blue true flame paint job, along with installing an ABC Exclusive Cobra Front Bumper with lip, S281 rear spoiler, Saleen side skirts, a painted aluminum fuel door, and painting the side mirrors and cowl vent cover. The future plans call for a custom audio system and a few more changes
