The Winter Daily Driver

The Winter Driver

This is my daily driver that I just picked up for the winter so the stang can go into storage from the nasty winter weather down in southern Oregon.

This is my 96' Ford Escort LX Hatchback. It's not a bad car for a daily driver. Got the car complete for $900, then I discovered it needed a new radiator and some new hoses.  I then found a few minor things that had to be fixed, but all in all not a bad buy. I found a set of snow tires with studs already mounted on a set of wheels that fit the car. The guy used them once for a trip, and didn't want to pay to have the tires dismounted
so he threw in the wheels. All together the winter set up cost a whopping $50. Couldn't be happier!

Thanks to all who gave me advise on what to do with the sensor. Apparently it worked. The check engine light has not come on at all. I even bought the Chilton Manual to make sure I did everything right. Thanks everyone.

Hey Fro,

I need some help with a little problem I have. My check engine light came on, and I ran diagnostics on it and it came back with P0401. So I replaced the EGR Valve and found out that wasn't the problem. Now I get a P0402 and I think I have it narrowed down to the pressure sensor but I need some one to confirm that for me. What do you think?

If you've already done the EGR valve, the DPFE pressure sensor is the next likely culprit
