Ok since my lil fuel problem at the bumble bee cruise I have changed the fuel filter and that didnt help. I went to the next systematic problem which would be the fuel pump........... Instead of getting a stock GT fuel pump I opted for the Ford Focus SVT pump part # 3s4z-9h307-bc. All my buddies told me, oh yeah its a direct replacement. Oh and it jumps the pump to a 255 lph pump, which it does. Well they are full of shit .........It aint no direct replacement and although it dont take a rocket scientist to figure it out I PERSONALLY dont like playing with wires that go into my fuel tank. Well what it boils down to is you have to cut and splice one wire which I opted to soder back together. I then covered it in shrink wrap. Did I fail to mention the last time I messed with a fuel pump I caught both my hands and arms on fire cause I was 18 and wanted music more than eye brows lol. Please if you mess with these diconnect the battery first. Well I got it in and filled the car up with gas from a different gas station and added a bottle of $6.00 injector cleaner and within the first 20 minutes of driving had the same problem. The car would die in 5th with minimal pressure on the gas pedal and when I stepped on it she would die but start right back up on its own due to being at highway speed. Plus when I idled at a stop light and let the clutch out and hit the gas to pull out it would die once again. Auto zone codes before the pump read 2 injectors reading open and the fuel level sensor malfunctioned. I took the car to auto zone after the fuel pump swap and even with the car still doing the same damned problem no codes present. Since then I have driven the car for 4 days and she has not missed a beat. No dieing at idle, no dieing when the clutch is let out and gas is given, and no dieing when I lug it out in 5th gear. Is it safe to say that I fixed the problem? The only thing I now notice is that from bout 1,000 rpm to 3,000 rpm's she has lost a great deal of power but runs like a bat outta hell from 3 g's on.I know I need to get it tuned and put the 24 lb injectors back in when I tune it but what else could cause the power loss at low RPM's? Any help will be appreciated.
