Interview |
1.) How many Mustangs have you owned? |
I guess the first was the one my Wife owned when we got Married, so let's say six (6). |
2.) When did you get your first Mustang? |
In January of 1968, it was 1965 Mustang Coupe, 3-Speed, 200 Stright-Six. |
3.) Can you remember when you first fell in love with the mustang, and what was it about it that made you fall in love with them? |
My "girl-friend" (now wife) had the 65 Coupe (as described above). While my 66 Olds 442 would stomp it in the quarter-mile, that damn little Mustang had LONG-LEGS on top end. This was back in the days when you could cruise at over 90 mph on the West-Texas Highways and never be bothered! |
4.) What is the longest distance driven to a car show or club meet? |
This is Texas, so a 300 mile, 5-hour + trip to a show is no big deal! |
5.) What do you love most about Mustang clubs? |
My GS WebPage says, "Mustangs - it's not just a Passion & Lifestyle, it's an Addiction!" Most 'Stangers are fun folks to be around! |
6.) What auto legend have you met or would like to meet? |
Have met Caroll Shelby, Chip Foose & Jack Roush. I still want to get Shelby to sign the dash of my 66, next to Chip Foose's drawing & autograph! Haven't met Steve Saleen, but I'd like to! I don't want to give 'J' a big-head, but I'd like to meet him as well (& get Hunt Pics)! LOL |
7.) How many miles do you put on your mustang in a week? |
I'd probably put a couple of hundred on my 66 before I got the Roush, now I drive mostly the Roush (daily driver). |
8.) What would be your dream cruise, just you and your stang? |
German Autobahn, been there - done that, but had to settle for a couple of BMWs...not the same as my 'Stangs! |
9.) What is your favorite past time hobby? |
Doing car shows, taking pictures & writing stories about them for the magazine. |
10.) What is your favorite movie? |
Wow, so many to choose from! "Saving Pvt. Ryan" is a REAL TOUGH RIDE, but keeps the juices flowing for an old ex-military guy like me! |
11.) What was your most embarrassing moment? |
Hmmm...guess it was as a kid, a teacher put me inside a circle of 30+ kids & made fun of me for a problem I was having (kids can be mean, like sharks w/blood in the water, when a teacher gives them permission to act out)! |
12.) What was your first vehicle? |
Learned to drive on Dad's 46 Dodge & later his 55 Olds, guess my first car was a 53 Olds, we called the Dragon Wagon (it was a 4-door 88 w/ a Dragon painted on the radiator cowl)! We mostly had Oldsmobiles when I was a kid! |
13.) What is your idea of a perfect day? |
Sunny, in the 60's & 70's with little wind, one of my 'Verts w/top down, wife next to me, my dogs in the back & cruisin' down the highway! |
14.) If you could live anywhere, where would it be? |
Someplace with the above weather & no State income tax (too much paperwork)! Texas used to be close, but too many laws these days...looking at far-West Nevada now! |
15.) What is your junk food weakness? |
Anything Sweet! |
16.) What magazines do you buy? (Car/Sports related?) |
Well, I write for Cruisin' Style Magazine (which is primarily a subscription magazine), but I have a subscription to Mustang Monthly! |
17.) How did you find Gotstang? |
Someone at a car show told me to check out the site. |
18.) With all the great features that J has provided to the member, what would be your favorite? |
Well, since I do a lot of photography, Hunts have to rank at the top! I have told MANY folks about the site. However this is Chebby Country, so most don't join, but they are jelous that we have such a COOL SITE!! |
19.) What have you gotten out of GotStang? since joining? |
Have met a lot of SUPER-COOL FOLKS on line and seen 'Stangs I'd probably never see other-wise (gotten some good pointers from them)! |
20.) What else would you like to see on GotStang? |
Wow...I don't know if I'd be able to DO much more than the site already has available. Maybe a way to post some of the stories and pictures I do for the magazine on the site so others could see & read them. |

Extra comments |
This site is the VERY BEST I'VE SEEN on the Net! 'J' and all of you who put forth the effort to get it up and keep it running should get a LOT of RESPECT!! |
