Well, we didn't get it. It was a 2006 Premium GT in Torch Red. Fully Loaded.. Yes, every option. The previous owners bought it for their 16 year old son, and then his grades dropped, and he started being a little butthead, so they traded it back in. He now drives a Hyundai Accent. LOL It only had 1004 miles on it too..
We drove it, oogled it, and sat down to crunch numbers. They said they'd give us "18,000" for the car, and when we told them no, they "bumped" it up to 20,500. Too bad that I've done this car dealing enough to know that they just took 2k off of the price of the GT.. They could get payments to within 10 dollars of what we pay now. So, we grabbed our purchase order and headed down to Navy Federal.
We must have been in that bank FOREVER. The lady we dealt with was funny, and very helpful. We sat down to work out financing and whatnot, and in the end, the guys through the computer wouldn't approve as much as we needed. Why? Because Brenden didn't get his resigning bonus yet. He gets it in the middle of October, and they pretty much said "Hey, if you had already gotten it, you could get anything you wanted!" So that was pretty depressing.
Anyways, we took what we could get and went back to the dealer. They said that if we gave them the loan check, and a hold check of 5k [out of his bonus], that we could WATCH AS THE CAR SAT ON THE LOT FOR A MONTH AND A HALF UNTIL THE CHECK CLEARED. So, that was bullshit. Brenden was still hopefully, so he said "Hey, what if I bring you my paperwork saying that I've been approved for my re-enlistment and I'll be getting X amount of dollars on this day?" and then our salesman turned into an asshole
If any of you are near Bremerton, don't go to Parr Ford Used Sales and deal with Brett Underwood..
We ended up sitting there for another two hours. Well, I escaped to sit in Lance and sleep for about half that time. In the end, they turned VERY rude. I'm surprised, because the new car sales lot has some of the nicest guys..
So, when they came back and said there was nothing they could do to let us even DRIVE it, if we had already paid for it, we said "Thanks for wasting our time." and left.
We spent over six hours dealing with all that bullshit. So, come the time when Brenden gets his bonus, we're just going to go pick up one of the GT that EVERY ford dealer is trying to get rid of.. And not at that dealer.
I could understand if it was impossible and they'd tell us earlier, but.. 6 hours? Ugh.
