Fitting Spark Plug Wires -lenth / location

ok, last year I slapped my wires on quickly and moved on to the rest of my stuff I had to accomplish to get the car running....but now I"m looking at how sloppy my wires look.

I did get separators/holders and will put those on..but before I do, I need to take them all off, then find what length goes where, I know I must have mixed a few because one of mine is off by 3 inches.

so...is measuring all the locations the only way..or does anyone already know which cyliners are the longest vs the shortest distance to the distributor position???

Lookin at the engine from standing in front of it front left is 1, then 2, 3, and 4 is on the back. Then 5 is the front right, 6, 7, 8. So I believe 4 and 8 are the two furthest.

Same problem here.  I was anal about it but it took me two hours to run my wires till I was somewhat satisfied with the look.

Good luck I used 2 sets of separators still have too much slack in all of the rear cylinders.  Still though spending a Saturday perfecting the stang is a day well spent.  I have a boost gauge to install and a car show to go to then work.

Maybe if you couldnt do it witout ruining the boots, you could always get a boot kit.

Its a little work and a little extra cost, but if it concerns you enough,it may be worth it to you.

Those are the ones I already have, great to know I can reuse them. So which cylinder paths are the longest?

3 is longer than 7 and 4 is longer than 8 based on teh location of the pin on the distributor cap...basically just watch for when the pin is on the farthest side on the rotor...common sense- but last time I was kinda in a hurry, this time I just swapped a few around
