It could have been worse, but it just makes me mad I just put those new tail light assemblies on the other day. Maybe a cobra rear bumper is in the future.

That sucks, sorry to see that you car is too nice for jackasses to be near.  I would be suffering from extreme mental anguish I would have to sue for compensation for (to establish new part fund).  Things can always be worse, at least you are not injured.

man that sucks. but u know what it really does show ford tough. i got tboned in my old 2000 v6 by a dodge ram pickup doing 45mph and his truck might as well be crushed and the mustang only had cosmetic damage.

yes, mustangs are tough!!  sorry to hear about the damage. I was in a similar situation a year ago.  I was dead stopped on the highway in traffic (in the mustang) and a ford ranger aparently never saw the stopped traffic and rear ended me at 50 mph full bore.  I slammed into the car in front of me.  his truck was totally  screwed and couldnt drive it.  The mustang only "appeared" to have a cracked bumper, a ding in the rear quarter and a scratch on the front bumper.....there was much more under the skin, (in the shop for 2 months) but i was AMAZED at how it held up!!  best part....i worked with the guy! LOL.

as for the GT bumper you have....the insurance company should pay for what is ON the car...meaning the shop will have to find one.  I had mine repaired at the dealer.  only genuine parts for me, but what did i care, i wasnt paying!  They even replaced my MUSTANG inserts in the back.  as long as he is at fault, i recommend doing the same!

When I got re-ended by a  guy with no insurance, My insurance replaced my entire stock bumper cover and teh Razzi rear I had on there at the time

I went to the ford dealership for 1 main reason only.  If i ever wanted to sell the car, it is going to show an accident on carfax.  I obviously would/have to be honest about everything (which i would be anyway), but a potential buyer would rather hear "100% repaired by a ford dealership using 100% OEM parts, and have all the receipts to back up my claim......rather than "car was fixed by joe schmoes body shop.....know what i mean?  thats the biggest reason i took it there.  now, if i had to pay out of my own pocket, it may have been a different story, but since the other guy took fault....dealership it was!

WOW that stinks man. Did you atleast knock the holy shit outta that dumb ass? Man if someone did that to my car on purpose I would unload a clip in there ass. That could be attempted vehicular manslaughter. Did he get arrested? Oh man would I blow this up. Call the base and find what squadron he works at and Get his ass lit up.

Damn, Greg that sucks, I was a victim of the road rage as well a couple weeks ago on the 264 going to work, very similar situations.  These F people around here are idots.  Hope everything works out for you man.

I was pretty mad to see the picture up close. cant beleive just a day before we were installing a new clutch cable on your car and the next day your car gets hit.. now i look dwn and see the guys picture and i laugh my ass off seeing how much damage he took. thats what he gets for being an dick.

I am really sorry to hear what happened! The same thing happened to ours about two years ago. The call to the base commander is an excellent idea, it will get his attention.
