So what are the guidlines between all the classes?  I mean what mods will put one person into one cat, while others put them into another.

This is good. I separated the pages of my GT and v6 just the other day and need to get the GT classified, If I have the pics for it.

Here was my suggestions for the different classifications

STOCK Classification

* NOTE:

Any Stock Production Mustang with a Supercharger is automatically in the Lightly Modified category. Mach 1’s are stock from the showroom floor.

 * NOTE 2:

Any one or two of the Lightly Modified items will not upgrade the car’s classification.

 *  NOTE 3:

Stock Cobras with Superchargers go into the Heavily Modified category.

 * Stock Production Mustang – excluding Cobra’s w/Superchargers

  •  New or updated Badges or Lettering (rear area)
  •  Cold Air Kits – w/standard throttlebody & fuel injectors
  •  Custom Seats

  •  Upgraded Stereo and Speakers
  •  Stock type spoiler. (Exam: Fox body convertible adding new decklid & spoiler – getting rid of the stock luggage rack on a fox convertible would be modified)
  •  Adding stock mass air (87/88 Mustangs have speed density)
  •  Headers
  •  Smog Pump Removal
  •  AC Unit Removal
  •  Aftermarket Wheels & Tires
  •  Aftermarket shocks and springs.
  •  Replacing Headlights and Taillights with stock type units (old units fogged over, cracked or broken) Includes the stock replacements with clear sides.
  •  Headlight, Fog & Taillight Covers
  •  Gas Cap/Fuel Area Bling
  •  Aftermarket Radiators
  •  Window Tint
  •  5 lug conversion – Fox body 4 lug.
  •  Adding Stripes to the stock paint job.
  •  Strut Tower Brace
  •  Sub-Frame Connectors
  •  K&N Air Filters

  •

    LIGHTLY MODIFIED  Classification

     Three or more of these items. Lightly Modified does not include any real power adders to the Mustang- Engine Remains Stock This category is mostly appearance mods. (MOSTLY BLING)

     Upgrading Brakes

    •  Upgraded Suspension
    •  Body Kit – air dam, side skirts, rear valance
    •  Aftermarket Hood

    •  Aftermarket Spoiler
    •  Aftermarket Stereo upgrade to include, subs, amps, dvd players, etc.
    •  Aftermarket Headlights
    •  Aftermarket Taillights – clear, smoked, etc.
    •  Custom Interior incl/ Billet & Chrome interior pieces
    •  Custom Paint.
    •  Nitros
    •  Custom Engine Bling, Powdercoating of stock parts, Aftermarket Valve Covers, Polished parts ect. – Engine guts remain mostly stock…
    •  Electric Radiator Fan set-up
    •  Custom Trunk Area
    •  Aftermarket Suspension Work
    •  Lambo Doors
    •  Side Exhaust
    •  Rear Gears Upgrade
    •  SN95 Honeycomb Panels
    •  Hood Pins
    •  Sunroof

    MODERATELY MODIFIED Classification

     Moderately includes cars with engine modifications and could include some or all of the lightly modified items. Any Roush, Saleen or Steeda w/manifold & intake upgrade but minus Supercharger will be listed as Moderate. Cars with just the moderate items will also fall into this category. (MOSTLY ENGINE – going for horsepower)

    •
    •

     HEAVILY MODIFIED Classification

    Any Mustang V6 or V8 that has a Supercharger or Turbo falls into this category and includes Mustangs with heavily modified engines built for horsepower.

    • Supercharger or Turbo
    • Serious Engine Mods (cam, heads, etc)

    CUSTOM Classification

     Show Vehicles, generally NOT daily drivers

    •  Custom Paint
    • Custom Interior
    •  Aftermarket Manifold/Intake, injectors, mass air, etc.
    •  Could Include Custom Suspension Work

    • Could have a Supercharger or Turbo added.

    As I said, this is a general idea to make the classificaitons more cut and dry. The majority of the cars will fall between Stock, light, and moderate.  Anyone elses thoughts?

    I like the list for, except the the heavily mod class.  So your saying any one with a supercharger is automatically put into that class?

    according to the new classification rules there are a lot of cars that need to be reclassified ... just my 2 cents

    At the moment I believe that there is only one person doing the classifying, maybe two.  That way its nice and fair.

    The list looks good to me .. maybe a side note that pictures must match your mods list to prove the mods .. I have seen a lot of sites that have a really nice mods list but you can only see half of their mods if that .. jusy my .02

    How about if you have 0-3 mods stock class, 4-8 lightly modified, 9-20 moderatly modified,  21-30 heavy modified and any about that your custom.

    Should not matter what the mod is.  Being rims or a supercharger to a chrome piece in the engine bay.  A mod is a mod, just some a bigger then others.  Now cars that come stock with a supercharger are debatable and always will be.

    See, that is where me and you are different.  I pull my carpet out and went from gray to black.  I did the same thing with the door panels (which I still need to post pics of) to enhance the appearence of the car.  To me, any time you enhance the appearence its a mod.  Does not matter if it was an option in other cars or not.  You did the work, its a mod.

    And thus you see the reason why a decision was never made concerning classification.
