Took these pics of Mars on 08/23/09. First time in recorded history it has been this close to Earth. (32 million miles) With 75mm binoculars, spotting scope, or, larger camera lens it looks as big as our own full moon. It can still be seen in the east after sundown until about 11:00p.m. (e.s.t.) It has started moving away from earth. NASA says it will not be this close for another five thousand years. Used a 3200mm lens and light reduction filter. Posted at the request of Crimsonblack.
