I like the idea if you can get it without the aluminum covers. Over on http://www.grabberorange.net/ the guys would rather have a Whipple or KB.

88fox the only thing is alot of people thing boost is what is hard on the engine.. and well when it gets into higher boost it has a little bit of a effect since alot of boost can increase the chance of lifting a head but like edelbrock says in one video they are using volume not pressure to create the power. so even though there is only 5 psi its still creating more or less volume then other superchargers on more psi of boost. but on the stock motor the strain of the motor being at 450rwhp on 5 psi vs 10 psi the motor is under close to the same about of strain. but edlebrock did come up with a good idea when they designed the supercharger that way..

Here are a couple of posts from the GrabberOrange sithe that were sent by one of the Edlebrock engineers:

1. Good morning Jim,

Thank you for your comments, and I understand your position. It sounds like you may be most interested in our competition kit, which eliminates the aluminum coil covers, and the tuner, and is geared toward the guy who wants to customize the set-up and have it custom tuned. This system, part number 1585, retails for about $4459.00 which is well below the competition, and still includes the full intercooler system, as well as the upgraded throttle body. Also, we offer 4 different upgraded pulley sizes down to 2.75”, so if it is more horsepower you are after, we can deliver that as well. Also, to answer your comment regarding the advantage of making the power with less boost, the advantage is temperature. The lower boost levels produce less heat. So, although both systems may produce the same HP on the first dyno pass, the system using less boost to achieve it, will make more HP on successive passes as the air begins to heat up. Consistency and reliability is what you gain with the more efficient unit. I hope that this answers your questions, and I hope that you will consider us when making your supercharger buying decision.

Regards,

Robert Simons
