Should I trade it or keep it?

My question to the community...

I will take over the spot of idiotic question for the month from gtstangbang but do be gentle.  In less then a year my Stang will be paid off (maybe sooner) so I will begin doing the modifcations I have in mind.  Unfortunately with so much out there that can be done, I need to help to narrow down what to start with first.  I know I am going to change the tires rims, but any recommendations to start changing engine, interior, handling, styling  or what as the enxt step.  Some of this I am going to try and handle on my own but I will be teaching myself as it comes along.
Just looking for recommendations on how some people started off when they started working on their cars.  Thanks for the help...

What do you feel is most important?

I went with Stereo, Wheels, Springs, Body mods, then more suspension, and then misc. stuff. I would think that wheels would be on top of the list, then either looks or perfromance depending on what you want. I think the suspension, at least springs is really good, helps to accent the wheels, helps handling, and helps looks all for $250 springs and an alignment. I went with H&R Super Sport Springs, and THEY ARE GREAT!!!

Thanks for the heads up.  I am looking to improve performance and add horsepower, and definitely add to the appearance.

try creating a budget first....how much do you want to spend and how much can you afford. That will help dictate what choices you can go with. Then decide what you want for a final outcome...show or go...or a little of both....then balance what is most important.

I would open intake and exhaust up and get some wheels , then do some chassis stuff before going crazy with the motor.....

Stereo, rims and tires, lowering springs for starters....starting with motor can be expensive.

I personally would start with the motor.  nothing drastic. The first most important thing, is to help the motor breathe better.  Cold air intake, and exhaust should always be #1 on a mustang engine mod list.  Any mods after that will benefit much much more with these 2 items installed first, such as, throttle body, plenums etc.

Stay away from underdrive pullies if you plan on having a "thumping" system.  Of course bumping the alternator to a 200 amp will cure any problems related with underdrive pullies and running accessories.

for appearence, get some decent wheels and drop it slightly.  Dont go less than 17" wheels or more than 18" wheels.  Changing wheels can be the single biggest appearence mod you do, based on the style and sizes.  I went with 18" billet wheels and staggered the sizes.  wider (deep dish) in the back and narrower in the front.  The billit "bling" grabs the eye, the staggered sizes make it look very aggressive.  Thus killing 2 birds with one stone.  The drop just makes it look less 4x4 adding to the "agressiveness"

I would definately do wheels and tires, and a stereo.

But, I would go with gears pretty soon into modding the car. A set of 3:73 gears (with a posi unit) will make your car feel 1000 lbs lighter! A very good mod to start with.
