I got the fan all wired up and tried it out today. It was about 95 with a heat index over 100. I let the car warm up to temp and started slowly adjusting the low speed till it kicked in about 180 (1/4 of the way up on the gauge for my car). I let it continue to idle and reving it up evry so often to increase the temp. About half way on the gauge...."click" low speed kicked out, high speed kicked in and DOWN WENT THE TEMP!!! High speed never did kick out at idle but going down the road it did so I'm happy...I went to town and did some stop n go for awhile to see what would happen High speed kicked in and kept it just above the 1/4 mark so thats fine with me as long as it stays below half I think I might actually be able to have A/C again!
I'm gonna take an hour long trip tomarrow to a show so I hope today was a good indication of a normal cycle. I firmlly believe in the Taurus fan now and if your having issues I suggest in the investment!!

I went to a local car show last weekend and there was a pretty good turn out considering the town is a few thousand people. Mostly, the entrants where early model street rods of the usual nature, Fords, Chevys, and Mopars. Abbi, the kids and I where actually all having a good time despite the humid weather and no breeze until....... the awards came. Now before forming an ill opinion of me about sportmanship and such please let me explain. I Love the looks of the new Challengers and I often eye ball them going through town and at the shows but my beef is with this; When it was time for the awards, 3 out of the 5 COMPLETELY STCK Challengers in the show placed. WTF! Now I'm not saying that I would have placed even if they weren't there but I don't get it! All the owners did is drive off the lot and into the gates of the show and place? 95% of the entrants had spent several thousand dollars (me included) on mods and custom pieces that ARE NOT part of a factory ride and when something like this happens I feel it is a slap in the face to all yours and my hard work. Tell me what you think...am I on the correct path or am I full of shit?????

]]>Hey guys and gals,
If you have seen my other blogs, you might know i've been working on a new gargae for my GT and my fathers 1969 Plymouth Fury. We have built the entire building from scrap metal racking used in industrial wharehouses.
We put the outer walls together using the racking, took the 8 foot cross bars and welded them together to make the trusses.
This is the beast we used to set the front wall up and the trusses. (A 24 foot long x 8 foot tall wall made out of White oak 4x4's and 2x6's lag bolted together with 6 inch bolts are heavy!!!!)
Dad and I welded together a few pieces of scrap and bolted a gin pole to a friends Bobcat to do the heavy work.
Welded a 6 foot piece of chain to the end...
Some of my welding work....ain't pretty but it's strong!!!!!
We bolted the 2x4's to the trusses useing 6 inch carriage bolts. It took 6 drill bits, 120 bolts, and ALOT of ratcheting to get it all up!
We used 18 foot long sheets of FREE used tin and 800 galvinized screws to cover the roof. Eventually, we will cover the rest of the garage with the remainder of tin and self-tappers. A neighbor needed a bottom end rebuild on his Dodge truck so we traded him out of two 10 foot doors to go on the front even up...
After all is said in done, some where around $500.00 for a 24x36 building....oh ya and ALOT of BenGay for the sore back muscles!!!!!! I'll add more as we get it done....
UPDATE 11-22-2009
After a few months of working on this crate.....NEW PICTURES!!!
South side of the building.
West side East side
interior west side
Slider is made out of extra panels of over head door bolted solid with flat steel and 1 inch angle to reenforce it.
My genius and COST SAVING IDEA to use "C" channel bolted to the top of the door and angle iron welded with nuts welded together for the rollers to slide into and pinned so they can be replaced if needed. The rollers fit into left over track from the over head doors up side down so the curve is pointed up. FREE and it keeps the rollers from comming out!!!
SHELF SPACE ANYONE!!!
Work benches like this one are going to be on both east and west sides of the garage. Mainly for junk...of course!

Give UP???
MY NEIGHBORHOOD UPS MAN!!!!
He brought me my new ALPINE stereo from SANTO CLAUS!!!
Too say I'm a little excited is an understatement. As most of you know, I recently posted a blog asking advice on which stereo to get for my GT because I wanted to start participating in shows more and it's a killer to have a huge hole in the dash where the stereo goes!! Well, our good friend Tony posted a link to this KILLER Alpine unit he thought I would like. He was right as the unit was AWESOME but alittle out of my price range so I told Tony that if he had a line on a good discount I would appreciate it. Well....long story short
TONY AND MEREDITH GRACIOUSLY DONATED A BRAND NEW ALPINE TO MY PROJECT FREE OF CHARGE!!!!!!!
Heres me with my new stereo....
Needless to say I am overwhelmed with there generousity, and I can't thank them enough for helping me out. I vote them GOTSTANG members of the year!!!! All in favor?????
