New Toy

New (for me) toy for my stable - 2004 F150 FX4.  Actually not a toy - it's my daily driver but still fun.  Crazy part is now that i got rid of my Ranger, of all my vehicles (93 5.0, 07 GT, and the F150) the blown 07 is the milage leader of the pack!  Haha

Right to Repair Coalition 2009
I don't remember ever seeing anything posted on the GS site about this, but my apologies if this is a repeat. If you have not already done so please take a moment to visit the Right to Repair Coalition's web site.

Today’s modern vehicles are very complex machines. Computers and electronics control nearly every vehicle function from safety and emissions to ignition keys. Although these computers provide many benefits to motorists through improved fuel efficiency, comfort and safety, they also provide increasing opportunities for car companies to lock out access by car owners and the independent repair shops where they choose to obtain service for their vehicles.

The need for Right to Repair legislation has become a necessity in order to protect the rights of car owners to decide where and how they have their vehicles serviced, whether at a new car dealer or an independent service facility. Right to Repair ensures that the person who bought the car and not the car company, can decide where that vehicle is repaired and maintained.

The Right to Repair Coalition is sponsoring a bill that will protect not only your right to choose where you can take your vehicle for service, but will protect your right to do any and all work on your car - including customizations!!!  Please consider signing the petition and emailing or writing to your local senator and representative.  The site makes it very easy to do.

New Car
I got a new vehicle this weekend – no I didn’t sell either of my Mustangs.  (I did sell my bike though!)  I purchased a 97 Ranger pickup truck with some of the proceeds to use as my primary transportation.  I was racking up way too many miles on the 07 and need to do something.  Got a great deal on the truck – it has 182K miles on it and it runs great with no issues at all and the interior and paint are like a car with 100K less miles on it!  As soon as I registered it I drove 100 miles to the Jersey shore and it ran perfect!  So the 07 officially starts life as a nice weather, ‘occasional’ driver today!  Should be much easier to clean up for shows now.  Who knows, maybe some day this thing will have a 5.0 in it!

Carlisle Winner!!!

Congrats go out to Ryan Naso (NASTNASO) on his
1st Place
Finish in the 2005 & Up Modified GT class at the 2008 Carlisle All Ford Nationals this weekend.  I got to meet Ryan and his team and see his car in person this weekend as they were camped out right across from the Fox Feature car group.  He has a sweet ride and definitely deserved the win over a huge field of cars in his class.  We all had a great time in spite of the wicked heat and humidity.  I will be posting pictures as soon as I cool down and re-hydrate!  Sorry for the crap photo of Ryan – Camera malfunction – but I got a good shot of the winning car with the award!
