My V6 is a 1983 GLX Convertible, that was a complete original driver when I purchased it in a package deal with 2 others. I drove the car for a year before the engine cooling fan toasted and cracked the heads. so it began as a "Fix It" project that snowballed. It now features a fully ported 4.2 mill with a cam 4bbl and headers with Pypes "Violator" mufflers and true duals.
Body started as "shadow blue" but was repainted sonic blue with PPG "prismatique" added along with a 4 point rollover bar , subframe connectors, strut tower bars and full urathane bushings through out.
UPDATE: the 4.2 engine met it's demise by being chased by a V8 truck up a mountain, when 4bbl kicked in she sucked up air instead of oil and trashed bottom end.
UPDATE 2: The 4.2 is being replaced by a 4.3 stroker based on a 1989 "Super Coupe" 3.8, with a F-150 4.2 crank, forged 351W rods and custom Wiseco pistons (Thanks to www.supersixmotorsports.com). The top-end was ported and polished, bowls were blended, and uses roller rockers from a Merkur XTRi. intake is stock as well as the Eaton M98. Some of the changes I have made are the modification of the "Blower Hat". Instead of forcing the air out of the supercharger and then making it turn 90* in 3/4 of an inch and forcing it through an oblong orfice then into a round tube, I have simply built a plate with a 90 degree bend over the blower exit area. I chose to use a custom intercooler 2 feet long and 3 1/4 inches thick and it will be mounted in front of the radiator.
