The Intro

I've always been a fan of Ford Mustangs as well as a few other vehicles produced by the big blue oval and sister companies. One of my favorites though has to be the 4.6 DOHC Cobras. They all sound awesome with astounding looks that show their strength. I never realized how much I would want one though until a friend of mine had his white 1996 Cobra delivered to him back in 1999. After getting to see these cars up close and then riding in it, I knew I was bound to own one.

At the time he had his Cobra, I was mostly into Pontiac Trans Ams. They were nice cars and looked decent but no serious performance to back up their looks (Got beat by Neons and Hondas regularly). I also liked the 4th Gen F-bodies but refuse to work on them with how cramped under the hood is.

I went ahead and scrapped the idea of rebuilding her and put my attention towards getting my 1993 Harley Sportster running again...

and purchasing an econobox while I worked my credit and insurance towards getting another performance vehicle.

In July 2005, I finally became fed up with driving a car that couldn't move out of it's own way so I started looking towards other vehicles. I was mostly looking for luxury vehicles since I was worried about insurance but soon found out that it would be feasible to own another performance car. Immediately I started looking at getting another performance car. I thought about getting a 1997 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 but was quickly reminded once again how much of a POS GM vehicles have become. My direction was then turned towards getting a Mustang. I couldn't just get any Mustang though. With how weak and underpowered the SOHC SN95's were, I immediately started hunting for 1996 to 1998 Cobras. I only found a few in the area I was living in. I was going to go look at a black 1997 Cobra but that was quickly sold. There was also a Yellow 1998 Cobra Convertible for sale out in Richmond that I tried calling on but never got a return call. The last Cobra was a white 1997 w/tan interior. I was told that it was somewhat modified but nobody knew how much was actually done.

I wasn't too thrilled that it was modified but figured I would look at it anyways. Regretfully, she wasn't perfect but still looked very clean. I then started to look at the modifications that were done and was quickly sold on purchasing her. This car had most of the modifications that I wanted to do and was under 100,000 miles! I worked out a deal with seller and brought her home.
