Whats up!! remember those time slips I posted? well apparently I had a boost leak in several place's and one was huge. I fixed them all. Or so I thought. one day I was driving the Stang to work and decided to put the pedal to the medal and all I heard was PSSSSSSSSSSSSH!!!!! And just after that a big power lose and lots of breaking up, so I just took it easy to work. I found out what it was pretty quick. My lovely forge BOV I got off Ebay for 50 bucks split an o-ring and jammed the main piston in my BOV. so when the pressure started it was like me having a giant whole in my intake piping. So I called up forge and they sent me some new free o-rings, awesome . Anyway I replaced them and I am good to go, here are some pics.
See the big silver piston? see that big green spring? well the o-ring jammed the piston in a position where the big green spring was compressed. You see that little black piston and the little spring? That's all that was sealing the pressure and it was definitely not enough.
You can see the split o-ring pretty good here.

I had to take off the new valve cover and put the old one back on cause with out baffles oil goes everywhere >_< (didn't notice them missing but I thought it didn't look right before I put it on).
also I found more boost leaks on the vacuum tree but that's just from vacuum caps cracking.I have a leak where my BOV mounts to my piping but ill take care of that soon.

FIRE!!!! That's right, fire about a week ago I had a fire under the hood, it was a wire issue. I am about 90% sure I know exactly what happened. #1 due to my excitement when rigging up the wires I may have left something exposed and it may have ground out and started the fire or #2 i should have added a fuse (and I think I know where).
Ill add pics and stuff later and give more detail. I already got the replacement harness. The gobbler will return better then ever you just watch.

Well, iv been moving a bit slow because of money and its winter so I am not really in a rush so I cleaned up under the hood pretty well, still have some more cleaning to do though and some rewiring for the switches. I found a replacement stock hood for $50 and I am getting it repainted. Over all nothing major, it took me a while to get a camera (I let my mom barrow mine and its still M.I.A) so I don't have many pics of the carnage but here are a few.
The sloppy spray paint is just there to slow down the rust a bit until i repaint the damaged parts witch wont be to long from now.

I already have replacement factory hood that's been repainted to match.
I think it turned out pretty good :-) still a bit more to do before
the Gobbler hits the road again.

So, currently I am in the process of removing my dash so that I can take care of the paint on the backside of the firewall. I am glad to say that at least now I know how and where the fire started, one of my wires that was going threw the fire wall ended up getting past the grommet I rigged up (wont do that again >.> and I guess it rubbed the insulation of, grounded it self out and poof.
anyway this is where I am at in the process, I don't get allot of time to work on the Stang.
2-26-09
The Stang is starting to look together again.
I got a new cowl and hood weather striping from 50 Resto and a window motor from a capri in the junk yard as well as my vacuum tree.
To the right is my old vacuum tree and to the left is my old TPS.

Not much to report, I clean up behind the dash as best I could without pulling every thing out, witch didn't seem needed. I put some POR 15 on a spot that was rusting from the fire and ran some new wires threw the firewall with a good grommet this time and loom and electrical tape. History is not repeating it self on my watch! I am kinda lacking on the pics though so here is one with the dash hanging, tomorrow ill post the pic's of the dash in and the wires I ran. Oh and I installed the ECU harness too.
3-26-09
I got it a bit neater looking now, not much though.
Like I said before, ECU harness in!
Here you can see how I set up the replacement wires, Ill make it look nearly factory if I can.

Well, as you can see my dash is pretty mush back together, makes me feel pretty good seeing it this way, the last hurtle I need to conquer in here is the wiring witch ill take care off soon enough.
You can see here that I installed my throttle cable (got this on off Ebay, the old one was kinda melted) and speedo cable (my old 88's speedo cable actually), unfortunately i haven't found a clutch cable yet. I went to the local Junk yard and came across a 2.3 with a T5 but the cable was broken :-(
4-05-09
Lets take a step back in time for a moment, i took this pic with my cell before i started cleaning anything, its a crappy pic though.
As you might imagine, the bright white stuff is from the extinguisher.
4-6-09
Well today I was able to repair/replace all the under hood wires that where damaged.
I still need to do a few finishing touches but its progress!
I still have alot of work to do in here by im not going to do much more untill i have power witch probably wont be until i have my engine back in the car.
This is no big deal really, this is my broken glove box lock. I replaced this today with one I found in the junk yard, if you didn't notice before I had my glove box held shut with a zip tie haha.

Fuel and fan switches.
For the Megasquirt.
5-9-09
So, I found out in the fire I shorted out my fuel pressure gauge so now I'm hunting down a replacement, on the brighter side the interior is completely done with wiring and all i need for it to be completely back together is a ebrake bezel and my replacement gauge.
This is how it sits now.
Oh I have my new hood on and engine in.
I did a few touch ups to some damaged paint from a minior fender bender and the wears of age.
If you notice, the yellow marks are gone.
I was going to take a before and after pic but didnt, I think there is one in my exterior section from when the trim was black and yellow on the upper portion.
