| Any questions/concerns pm Nicoleb3x3 [ click to enlarge ] FOR LX OWNERS WITHOUT EXISTING FOGLIGHT PLUGS: GT Foglights can be added to an 2.3 LX or 5.0 LX without existing ford foglight plugs, if you're switching over to the GT front bumper, or if your installing some aftermarket foglights into your LX bumper. This installation allows you to use a GT style foglight/headlight switch for that factory appearance. [ click to enlarge ] FOR GT & 5.0 LX OWNERS WITH EXISTING FOGLIGHT PLUGS: If you have problems with your foglights and need to fix the overheating switch issue, similar instructions found at: http://www.corral.net/tech/maintenance/foglights.html This can help you eliminate the overheating and save your factory switch from potentially melting. If you've already melted it....well, this link can help you fix it. (my instructions are for LX owners only, sorry) OVERVIEW: *(Optional GT brackets when using GT foglights) Installing Brackets on your LX (with GT bumper) *Disconnect Battery (negative first) *Remove & Replace the Headlight/Foglight Switch *Alter factory wiring for new power source and add a new output power to the relay. *Run output power wire through firewall to relay location *Run "high circut power" from battery through fuse to relay location *Run wire from relay location down to foglights & ground *Reconnect Battery *Check connections and connect relay *Test them out...and hope nothing smokes  STUFF YOU'LL NEED: 30 Amp Auto Relay (DO NOT BUY RADIO SHACK CRAP!) 12 - 10 gauge .250" Female Disconnect Blade Terminals 12 gauge black colored wire 12 gauge blade fuse holder & 15 amp (blue) fuse 12 Gauge Crimp on Eye connectors (For Battery connection) 18 gauge black colored wire 18 gauge blue colored wire (optional, you can just use black) 18 gauge Tap-In Connector 18 gauge wire connectors Electrical Tape Wire Cutters / Strippers Vice Grips Ratchet Set Flat Head Screw Driver (2 small ones are good) NEXT STEP |
