Wiring The Relay |
[ click to enlarge ] *Run "high circut power" from battery through fuse to relay location 1. Connect an eye connector to a 12 gauge wire (black) (mine is orange below) about 7-9 inches long connected with a 12 gauge blade fuse holder with a fuse. 2. the other end will be connected to the relay later [ click to enlarge ] *Run wire from relay location (near the battery) down to foglights & ground 1. Run a 12 gauge wire from the relay location down to driver's side foglight. Strip the end and using a wire connector connect to the one of fog light wires. 2. Connect the second foglight wire using a wire connector and run to the second fog light. [ click to enlarge ] 3. Connect with a connector to one of the passenger foglight wires. 4. Connect the remaining fog light wire to new wire and ground. (you can run up to the top and using an eye connector and screw down to the frame. [ click to enlarge ] *Connect relay 1. Connect Power Lead (which runs into the firewall to Relay) using a 12 - 10 gauge .250" Female Disconnect Blade Terminal connector to post #87. (This is the low power source, you can check the relay your purhcased which may be different) 2. Connect the "out to Fog light" wire to Relay using a female connector to post #30 (this is the high out put power wire sending power to your foglights). 3. Connect ground to relay using a female connector to post #85 (use 8" wire with eye connector to then ground to screw on the car frame) 4. Connect "high power" wire (wire from battery and with the fuse) using a female connector to post 87. 5. Make sure your fuse in inside the fuse holder if not already. 6. If your relay has 5 connectors, the last connctor is not used (post 87A) note: I personally decided to use electrical tape to tape around the female connectors to prevent moister or water getting on the relay connections. [ click to enlarge ] *Reconnect Battery *Test them out...and hope nothing smokes *Now that everything is working properly, Carefully guide the wires and re-install the headlight/foglight switch by clicking into place.
