My 1988 Saleen Mustang

       My 1988 Saleen Mustang

My 1988 Saleen Mustang #573 Rebody / Tribute started life as a 2.3L 4 cylinder LX w/ auto tranny that i bought back in 97 as a recovered theft from Staten Island NY. I bought the car from Menard Automotive, a mustang salvage yard in NH. The 88 mustang was already missing its 2.3L & auto tranny making the swap a little easier for me. I did the full 5.0 swap & converted the tranny to 5 speed w/ a stock 8.8 & all 5.0 brakes & suspension. After the full 5.0 swap was done, i then spent a few years collecting all the Saleen parts i could get my hands on! Once that near impossible mission was complete, I added the full Saleen body kit w/ front bumper filler molding, Saleen centrex rear wing, complete 1988 Saleen decal kit  & emblems, Saleen Mesh 16x7 front & 16x8 rear wheels w/ 225-50-16s, full Saleen/SVO 5 lug 4 wheel disc brakes w/  an SSBC adjustable brake proportioning valve, 8.8 rear w/ 3.55s, SVO 73MM front calipers w/ Hawk pads & cross drilled rotors & Saleen/Racecraft suspension. Then toping it all off was the interior conversion. Out came all the original red interior & in went the very rare & hard to find Saleen FloFit interior consisting of front & rear matching Saleen FloFit seats, Saleen door panel inserts, Saleen gauge cluster, Momo 3 point steering wheel w/ correct Ford horn button, Saleen shift knob, matching dash emblem & Escort radar detector offered with these earlier Saleen mustangs. This has been one hell of a project car. Twisty back roads is what this car is made for! Its a well balanced package to say the least :-)
Remember now, this is a 4 cylinder/automatic to 5.0/ T5 conversion built to 88 Saleen specs!
Thank you to the friends that made this possible & the few wrecked 1988 Saleen Mustangs that donated alot of parts!

Hey folks, I was wondering if someone out there with an 88-93 Fox convertible could do me a favor.  I am looking for a picture of the of the ‘A’ pillar post window weather strip showing the weather strip and inside trim molding (the molding on the inside of the pillar post) and another detail picture of where the pillar post molding meets the door seal molding.  I am redoing this and need an example – my car was repaired long before I purchased it and they kind of did a ‘custom’ job on this area.  I want it to be right this time.

Thanks,

Tim
