Picture of the compound in Tikrit. I stayed in the buildings to the left of the large palace.
Just Me.
Toasting Saddam's capture with fake beer. It isn't the same.
Saddam's Hole
Pillars on the side of the saddam's large palace that I stayed in for about 8 months. The sand bag wall where filled by my medics. Too many to count, but needed to help protect against mortar and rocket attacks. The statue is suppose to be of Saddam on horse. It is in the traffic circle right out side the palace. If you look at the palace in the foreground our Aidstation was to the left.
Mortar Man fired about everyday right next to our building.
Me, receiving my second Combat Medical badge.
My Medical Platoon receiving injured soldiers from the city of Tikrit to 1/22 Infantry's Battalion Aid Station
I am in the drivers seat standing waiting to take injured soldiers to the Helicopter Landing zone.

This was during a raid on a weapons catch. I am the one with the large medical bag on his back.
