Thanks for dropping by and checking out my page.
Where to start....My name is Mark and this is my first Mustang project. I bought the car for $800 as a repo from a local Credit Union. It had 89,000 miles, near flawless interior, a blown engine and as for the paint and body, well you can see for yourself it was not taken care of.
The first thing I did was buff the paint out. After about 4 hours of work I was more than happy with the results. I couldn't beleive what a difference it made. I highly recommend investing in a high speed buffer!!
Now what to do about getting it running....I wanted to find a newer PI engine for it, but I happen to find an engine out of a 1998 GT with, the auto tranny, with only 28,000 miles on it about 3 minutes from my house. I picked it up for a cool $1K. I sold the tranny for $450. $550 for my low miles engine!!!
While the engine was getting installed, I received more good news about my stang. Whoever had it before me had put a new clutch and a remanufactured tranny in it money saved!! The engine was finally finished and it wwas running GOOD! I noticed that it had a lot more torque than I anticipated and the speedo was off...Hmmmm..gears?? Yeah... it had 373's in the rear end. More money saved!!
I had to get rid of the rims om her, so I started looking around. I found the Deep dish Cobra R's and loved them!!!!
I know...the tail lights have to go...getting OEM or tinting these SOON!
Now for the suspension. It is currently in the shop getting the following items installed:
UPR Chrome Molly rear upper and lower control arms
2003 Cobra front control arms
Lakewood 70/30 struts
Eibach Pro kit
I have new polished Plenum, Throttle Body and CAI for it also, but the weather has not been cooperating here in Central Illinois. So that install will have to wait a month or so. I can't wait for Spring to get here!!
Future Plans: 315/35 Drag Radials in the rear
New Hood (too many choices)
100 Shot Dry Nitrous
MSD Coil Packs
Dyno Tune
I am hoping to get a new paint job this coming fall/winter. Just gotta find a way to start saving money. I want to get it recoated black and I'm thinking of getting some ghost flames put on it. I can't decide which pattern (more or less flames), but I know I want them subtle. Here is the color I want them in...
hold on.....Know I'm thinking two-tone after seeing Mustangwerks Mach 1, but in a different color... DECISIONS, DECISIONS
Finally got the suspension done
So nobody thinks the Mustang is the only thing I think about....
