There are setbacks and stipulations. After 120,000 plus miles and the new upper/lower intake install, the engine has started pulling oil through the pcv system. A few months after the intake install, I notice pretty decent puffs of blue smoke coming on hard acceleration. After doing a few tests, pulling plugs, compression test, ect... the pcv system seemed to be the culprit.
I hunted around online and got the idea to install a catch can in line from the pcv to the upper intake. It cost me about $45 to get the parts needed, and 2 days worth of tinkering, but it paid off. After the install in early Feb of '06, I have had zero smoke on acceleration. Here is a pic of what I did.
