I don't trust the factory gauges so I got a Speed of Sound dash pod and some Autometer Sport Comp II gauges.
Electric oil pressure, full sweep electric water temperaure and voltmeter
Bottom side of the pod wired and ready for the install. White wires are for the lights, red for the +12 volt source, black is ground, yellow is to the oil pressure sender and the two small purple and gray wires go to water temp sender. Everything is all crimped and sealed with heat shrink tubing.
First attempt at installing the temp sender in the water crossover. Had to drill and tap for the sender. I did a test with the sender in this position but was getting a cool reading. I think the sender is not in the water path. Need to lower it some.
Got this gadget from Shelby Performance. It's the same manifild arrangement that they use to mount their oil pressure gauges for their gauge pods. The braided hose goes where the stock sender is, the stock sender and the Autometer one mount in the manifold and the whole thing bolts to the drivers side of the block. It sure beats having a bunch of brass fittings hanging off the side of the engine to get broken.
