Spare Tire? Keep it or Ditch it

someday in the near future I'm planning to build a custom fiberglass enclosure for 2 12" kickers..
these are very large speakers, and with 2 amps...space even in a hatch is tight- but yes plenty of room to get it done.

let's say I keep my spare..and build a design over it...then it's vitually impossible to get to the spare anyway!

should I ditch the spare, use the space for the design..and worry about a flat by calling someone to get my full size backup at home?  I supposed long road trips the spare would need to be thrown in the backseat...but still better than removing a hatchfull of system components?

has anyone else debated on this?

i still have mine in the car however, my car dont see any long trips so i had been thinking about just removing it for added storage space. Nicole, i say ditch it & when ned be, just toss it on the back seat like said. nothing goes on my backseat, not even an ass! LOL the Saleen FloFit material is impossible to replace so i am usually the only one in my car. no passengers so me being about 160lbs & carful w/ the drivers seat = good seats forever :-)

Very easy answer. If this is your daily driver keep it. If not Ditch it.

ditch it, i have also had mine out for about 3 years.  i was in the same boat your in with a custome system etc.  use AAA or call a friend.    maybe even keep a can or 2 of fix a flat.....they somewhat inflate the tire and it works great for temporary useage.

Battery will not fit back that far. It will have to sit near the shock tower.  Taylor has a nice kit to relocate the battery.

Taking out the carpet and stuff will not gain enough room.  I have looked at putting the battery in the spare tire well but not enough to see what you would have to do. I know the box fits there.
