Okay. I need to work on the lock inside the passenger side door. Before I start a headlong journey I thought it best to ask the knowledgeable experts here to get me started.

 

How do I remove the door panels on a 99-04 Mustang? It looks like three pieces, but I am not sure how to remove them from the doors. Any help is appreciated.

 

My problem: The lock does not move up or down. When the door locks with the remote I can hear the actuator inside the door clicking up and down, but the door just stays unlocked. Any ideas what my problem is?

 

The little lock pinion that comes through the top of the door panel is in the down position all the time. I grabbed it with pliers and still cannot pull it into the unlocked mode - but the door is unlocked.

 

I am sure I'll see the problem once I get into the door, but if I ruin the door panel or screw it up my wife will have my ass. yipes!
