fuel pump mystery

Om my 88 2.3l notch the fuel pump will not shut off.  I have to disconnect the battery to shut it off.  When I reconnect the battery the fuel pump does not come on until I turn the ignition then it does not shut off even with the key out.  I have replaced the fuel pump relay, ecc ignition relay, ignition starter switch, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter and swapped the fuel pump with one out of a 5.0.  What besides the computer could it be.  It is not a wire grounding out or the fuel pump would start up when I put power back to the car.  Any ideas before I buy a new computer?

I just read this to my neighbor who is a Ford Tech at the local dealership and he said you will probably need to take it in to see what code it is showing if any and they may possibly be able to reprogram it instead of buying a new computer but he feels it is definately in the computer since you have replaced everything else and it still does it

No check engine light so probably no codes but I will check it.  I just wanted to see if there was something I had not thought of, thanks.
